Camp Welch is the oldest camp of its kind in the United States. With 165 acres of wooded property to include 20 camp buildings, ball fields and two swimming pools, Camp Welch is the Club's sole program site during the summer months providing a safe place to learn and grow for youth who may otherwise be unsupervised and on city streets during the day. A full range of activities are available including basketball, soccer, baseball, hockey, swimming lessons and pool recreation, arts and crafts, hiking and fitness. Bus transportation is provided from downtown Fall River to Camp Welch every weekday. Camp Welch's budget is a major part of the Boys & Girls Club operation and mission. For a child to attend Camp Welch, the cost is $175 per week or $35 per day (3 day minimum). A $50 sibling discount is applied when multiple siblings in the same household attend a full week together. A Campership Donation is a great way to provide a youth in need the opportunity to attend Camp Welch during the summer vacation months.
Licensed Afterschool Program
Our licensed after school program is operated by the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River. It is a fee based program that provides children between the ages of 5-14 transportation from school to the Boys & Girls Club where they will participate in enrichment opportunities until 5:30pm.
The program administrator will staff the program with qualified individuals, maintaining ratios and standards that meet or exceed all licensing requirements for the MA Department of Early Education and Care.
Our program provides a wholesome environment that promotes social, physical, and character development. It also supplements the parents’ and schools’ efforts to meet the children’s intellectual and educational needs.
Our after-school program allows children to balance learning and fun through several different experiences. From comprehensive homework help to fun physical activities, this program is designed to ensure that everyone goes home happy.
Our focus areas give your child limitless opportunities to reach their full potential.
Homework Help: Whether it’s a science project, book report, or spelling test, our teachers are here to support your child in completing his or her homework. This frees up time in the evenings for you to be together as a family.
Daily Fitness and Healthy Snacks: We assist children in developing healthy bodies, and we encourage proper nutrition through daily physical activities and healthy snacks.
